The Last Gig (Part #2/2)

It's done.
We played in Annecy.
Last gig of the tour with WILL HAVEN. The 16th. Damn... I'm tired of course, but I think I could have continued a little bit without any problems. That's amazing how your body learns. It suffers and then gets used to it. It learns and also knows how to deal with that... Touring everyday, venue after venue, kilometers after kilometers, shows after shows. Singing, screaming, hitting, punching toms, moving fingers every night.
That's the same thing we learned this summer :
You think you can't do it cause your brain doesn't know how to do it. But in fact, your body actually knows how to do it. By unplugging your brain, you discover all your own abilities.

Let's plug it off ;-)

The Last Gig (Part #1/2)

Here we are.
Yesterday was the 15th gig. In Montpellier. Not far away from where we live. So loooooots of familiar faces were here to support us. Friends, family, girlfriends... It wasn't the day to fail !
Sometimes it's so fun how you can get pressure because "there's a huge crowd!" or "there are a lot of medias / newspapers"... and sometimes because "my mum is here" ! Haha...
In fact, mine wasn't here. But Tristan's and Yohan's were. And I guess I would have reacted like that. But the fact is that these people give you the real inner force to go further and beyond your physical limits. It's not a question of "letting a good impression". It's a question of "assuming the grown-up we became".
"Look, it's me on stage..."

So Annecy is last gig. At our start from Montpellier, I saw the sky hadn't been that sunny during the whole tour.
Indian sign maybe...

Paris (After - #2/2)

Damn, if all the parisian evenings could be like this one ! Thanks to all the peope that came to see us, WILL HAVEN & MOPA. We were almost 300 p. in the Maroquinerie. We saw many familiar faces.Especially the one of Mister Red Ollier ! So cool to have you just behind our wedges, dude... We also saw many people that already came to see MOPA in the Klub, or in the other places we played in Paris. That’s so cool...
The WHVN guys were so happy to see this whole crowd in front of them. I was so happy for them too. That helped us and them to forget the crappy gigs in Germany ! We were not alone anymore to shout “I’ve Seen my fate”... Crown me, I am Godlike... (or not...)

Paris (Before - #1/2)

We came back in France.
God damn it, I would have never guessed it could have been so nice to see back again our own country... Colmar was really cool. We already played in that venue, with THE OCEAN, last summer. Pretty souvenir. Sound is amazing. Lights are amazing. And the people was so nice with us. I hope it’s gonna be the same tonight in Paris. I guess it will. So many boys and girls told us they’re gonna come to support us tonight. Add our own friends. Add the medias. It’s gonna be a little confortable audience !

PS : On the photo, you can see Yohan with ice on his face. In Saarbrucken, Pag put him a flight case close to his eye ! And the day before, in Switzerland, I could have torn him a finger with the door of the van that smashed on his hand... I promise : we now stop to try to kill Yohan, he's not our scapegoat anymore ! ;-)

MOPA on the road

Some of you asked me to continue the blog. I think they’re right. So let’s do this.

As you must know, we’re on tour now. I’m writing this message in the van, stucked in the traffic jam between Münich et Frankfurt. We began the tour with WILL HAVEN a week ago. These dudes are fuckin’ cool. That’s all I can say. They rule on stage. They rule backstage.

All the people on the gigs were damned cool with us too. Very good audience in Belgium, in Switzerland, and Lille where the show was sold out. Only the german gigs are fucked up. It seems the promotion failed. That’s such a pity. The venues are cool. Every night, we’re so proud of what we manage to do. But I want to say thank you to the people who came, rather than complain about the ones who didn’t.

The first week of the tour was not that easy. On the third or fourth day, already a few of us were ill cause we got some cold in Germany. That’s incredible how cold it is in this country in september. In Leipzig, it was honestly incredible. I guess that coming back from a summer in Los Angeles, and being used in the cool weather of Toulouse, my body was kinda surprized ! But I must say that yesterday was a shiny day between Saarbrucken and Münich.

Today, it’s Frankfurt. 10th gig. The hands of Yohan are still here (!). The fingers of Tristan are still here. And my voice is still here too. I hope our whole bodies will still be here in a week... and even already tomorrow !

Thank you Ross

I waited for the last day to write the chapter of the blog about Ross.
Here we are. It's our last day here. Tomorrow, we're going. Back to France.
Finally, I don't want to play the chatter box. I'll make it short.

I think we'll miss Ross.
I think Ross will miss us.
I think we're not the same as we were before coming here.

I think we're better musicians now.
I think Ross opened some doors, which we saw as walls, inside of us.
I think we're better men now.
I think Ross helped us to live in peace with our own minds.
I think we're better friends now.
I think Ross helped to see what linked us to each other.
I think MOPA could have died this year for personal and dark reasons.
I think we're born again.
Thank you Ross.

Marion, Manu, Hugo, Annelise

They are our daily hidden energy...
They're called Marion, Manu, Marion, Hugo, or Annelise.
Everyday, by mail, by MSN, by Skype, by MySpace, they sent (and they still send!) us so good vibrations, friendly support, huge smiles. Everything that counts and help us to create this record, to live this adventure, to overcome the hardship we may have to face.

Ladies first...
The last one, Annelise, is THE girl. THE real MOPA girl I'd like to say. THE girl who sent our EP in every town of every country, every time someone ordered one on our Online Store. She works for the "Boutique Antistatic". She takes care of every postal mail. She always says a cool word for the three of us. She never complains, even where we're fuckin unorganized... and God knows we are sometimes.

The first two ones, Marion and Many, help us on our MySpace sites for weeks and weeks and weeks ! If you sent us comments, maybe they answered you. They're incredible cause they continue to follow our line of "trying to get a little piece of humanity in this fucked up / ego fighting world" through our site and MySpace, etc...

The third one is a drummer. He plays with Manu in MY LAST HEROIN(E). And this crazy guy worked alone on building us a huge new MySpace site ! He's efficient and wise. Already wise, and also so kind.

You must know that MOPA thanks all of you.
We need so much support indeed, far away from our home, our friends, our love.
Because you give, you'll receive.
Be assured you'll receive from us. ;-)
