Supersize me

XL, XXL, XXXL, XXXXL... There are sizes here we don't know the existence in Europe. Everything's bigger. Yes. That's true. But I must confess that in Venice / Los Angeles, it's not the "Supersize me" vision of the USA that gets on my mind first.

Of course, it's fun and weird to choose a simple salad at the restaurant, not the "gargantuan" one, and to have so many difficulties to finish it !
Of course, it's amazing to buy a "one gallon" bottle of apple juice. To buy daily a half-gallon bottle of milk. To ask every time the small size in every fast food, in every smoothie bar, in every StarBuck Coffee.

BUT, BUT, BUT... I must confess that this place is full on veggie places. Or healthy food stores. Vegetarian restaurants. Fast food specialized in organic fruits / vegetables coming from "organic" farms. This word is everywhere here. "Organic". It's what the european companies call "Bio". Venice Beach is such a place for independant / alternative artists, freaky people, new-old-new beatniks, rich ecologists, bodybuilders... Those people are also fond of healthy food. Of course, you can eat "supersize" all day long.  But you can eat normally if you want to.
And if your wallet wants to too...
Cause here more than everywhere else, eating well is expensive.
